RCI Points

RCI Points is the extremely popular timeshare option available from RCI International. It makes owning RCI affiliated timeshares so much more flexible since you no longer always have to travel for a full week or always check in on Sundays. If you’ve shied away from buying a timeshare because of the inflexibility of fixed weeks, then you might want to buy RCI Points instead.

With many timeshare systems, people buy shares in a hotel or resort which is divided up into weeks of accommodations. You also have to pay a bi-yearly or yearly maintenance fee. The idea behind this system is that you will have a share in a hotel that you can go to for a specifically booked week, every year.

The RCI Points system differs slightly from this. Rather than buying a set week vacation slot, starting from Sunday through till Saturday, you buy points which you can later exchange for vacation slots. This gives you flexibility as to your location, the date and length of your vacation and even the type and size of accommodation.

With resorts in over 100 countries worldwide, you can vary your vacation spot each year. Both in Europe and the USA there are well over 1,500 vacation locations to choose from. In the US these are virtually dotted all over the country, in every State. In Europe these locations center mainly around the South Europe, England and the Mediterranean countries, all perfect vacation spots!

Then there are RCI affiliated resorts in Africa and the Middle East, Australia and the South Pacific, Mexico and South America. All of these places boast of over 300 affiliated hotels and vacation spots. There are considerably less options if you’re looking to vacation, using your RCI points, in Central America, Canada or the Caribbean, though you should still be able to find something to your liking.

You can also choose your location depending on the type of vacation you’re looking for. Decided to hit the beaches this summer, then online you can search all of the RCI affiliated beach resorts. No matter what type of vacation you’re hoping for, there should be a category that matches your choice.

With RCI Timeshare points, you can choose how to spend them. If you want to use them up on weekend get-away’s during the year, you can. Or perhaps you’re hoping for a nice long three week vacation, no problem. You are no longer limited to the one week only, set date vacation with the RCI point system.

You can also decide on how large your accommodations will be. Going with all the kids? Then you could spend more points and get a two bedroom suite. If you are vacationing alone then you can opt for a smaller one bed room, and use less points. As you can see the RCI timeshare points system offers you great choices and fantastic flexibility.

I’m not quite sure I understand this article. Can I buy RCI Points directly from RCI OR does RCI simply let me exchange points I may have from an existing timeshare that I own. e.g. WorldMark? When I looked at the RCI website they only talk about “exchanging” points, which leaves me with the impressions is that they are simply an exchange service but that they don’t sell “points” similar to what WorldMark does.

No, you don’t buy RCI Points from RCI. You buy a resort ownership that has RCI points attached to it and then you can use those points in the RCI Points system. Basically they are used for exchanges. Worldmark works completely differently. They are their own point system and have their own resorts. RCI itself does not own resorts. They are basically an affiliation membership. I hope this clears it up for you.
